These Cute Cats Become Totoro
Japan again excited with another unique trend! This time the owners of
the cat decorate the cat's back so it resembles the character of one of Studio
Ghibli's production film, Totoro.
Totoro is a character in the movie "My Neighbor Totoro" ( と な り の ト ト ロ ). The film was released in 1988. Directed
by legend Hayao Miyazaki, My Neighbour Totoro tells of a small family (Satsuki,
10 years old, his sister, May, 4 years and his father who is a professor of
Archeology) moved to the city of Torozawa. The reason for their move was
to have their residence close to the hospital where their mother was being
treated, the hospital in Hachikokuyama town.
Satsuki and Mai then find Totoro in a small forest near their new
home. It was at this meeting that their mystical adventure
began. Totoro looks like a mixture of some animals ie 梟(fukuro / owl),猫(neko / cat), and狸(tanuki / raccoon dog).
In the virtual world many theories and materials about Totoro which
mentions that Totoro is a mythical creature of the 'God of Death'. This
theory had become a hot topic in various social media.
Forget for a moment the mystical impression of Totoro. The owner of
this cat uploaded their cat photo to twitter. Wow .. how funny these cats
are ya?
